Federal Programs

Title I

The Title I funds are used to provide supplemental core academic instruction, instructional support, and parental involvement and engagement to schools to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

Title II

The Title II Part A funds are used to increase academic achievement by providing supplemental funds to implement strategies to improve the quality of instruction and leadership. Title II Part A will also increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principal quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools. It also holds local educational agencies and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement.

Parent Engagement

To further drive the goal of improving student achievement, the Office of Federal Programs will be implementing a strong focus on Parent Engagement in FY2013-2014. An online parent survey will be developed to assist in gathering continuous feedback, and information from parents that will be used in designing and implementing purposeful engagement strategies, evaluating the effectiveness of these strategies, and promoting communication.

Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP)

Under the Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) specifies that local educational agencies (LEAs) may receive funds under (ESEA) if the LEA has an approved plan on file with the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). The LEA plan is submitted as part of the consolidated application. The GaDOE has integrated the requirements for planning across all ESEA programs and the state’s professional learning program. The Comprehensive LEA Plan (CLIP) eliminates the need for LEAs to submit separate plans for individual programs.

Testing Security

Parents as we enter the testing season, we wanted to reassure you that your child’s test scores will be accurate because we have strict testing securities in place. Teachers do not have access to the test outside of the testing window of time. Test booklets are counted daily and shelved in a secure locked room. If you are ever aware of any concerns please feel free to report them to your scholar’s administrator.
